Rev. Manuel Scott, Jr. was born and raised at the Calvary Baptist Church in Los Angeles.
He was impacted and influenced by the ministry of his father the late Rev. Dr. Manuel L.
Scott, Sr. He participated in every aspect of the church as a direct consequence of unparalleled
parental influence of father and mother, Sister Thelma Scott he accepted the call to preach the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. Not long after that he was licensed, ordained and began working as pastor
of the Park Windsor Baptist Church in Los Angeles. He would serve there several years before
answering the call to go into all the world and preach the Gospel as a full-time evangelist.
Rev. Scott is a graduate of Dorsey High School in Los Angeles where he was voted Senior Class President in 1967. Upon graduation, Rev. Scott enrolled in the prestigious Bishop College in Dallas, Texas where he was voted Freshman Class President in 1968. Rev. Scott eventually transferred to the University of California at Los Angeles where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Political Science in 1971. Later he attended Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey where he would receive his Masters of Divinity Degree in 1975. He is currently trying to squeeze in time to complete his PhD at the Claremont School of Theology in Claremont, California.
To his credit, Rev. Scott has conducted over 600 revivals and crusades and has written over 30 printed lectures. He has taught in more workshops and seminars than perhaps any other African American Baptist in America. In this remarkable venture over 20,000 persons have come to know Jesus Christ. Averaging over 42 revivals per year, Rev. Scott has been endorsed by some of the greatest names of our time. Rev. Scott is one of the most talented and gifted preachers of our time and we are honored that he still calls Calvary his home.
